Director Andrew Wonder recently shot a short film documenting guerilla historian and urban explorer Steve Duncan as he trekked through New York City’s underbelly, and it’s absolutely awesome.

Duncan brings Wonder down through the subway tunnels to an abandoned subway station, through a manhole to look at the canal that gave Canal Street its name, and all the way to the top of the Williamsburg Bridge — all of it while keeping an eye out for cops or city personnel who would arrest them for trespassing.

It’s mind-boggling how much history lies buried beneath our feet. Certainly worth a watch, if you have the time.

whoa, makes you wonder more about Dark Days and how many people are still down there
