What began as a movements measured at only fractions of an inch, turned into a 165-million ton wall of loose dirt tumbling down the northeast section of the mine around 9:30pm local time on April 10th.</span><br/><br/><span>The picture above was taken after the slide by </span><a href="http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865578042/Kennecott-confirms-significant-landslide-at-Bingham-Canyon-Mine.html?pg=all"><em>Deseret News</em> photographer Ravell Call</a><span>, and captures the sheer size of a slide of this magnitude (</span><a href="http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/news/56317801-78/kennecott-slide-landslide-moore.html.csp">some experts believe that it’s</a><span> the largest ever recorded in the US).
